CBS Casting: The Amazing Race

CBS Casting: The Amazing Race

Ok, I’m at it again. I’m a bit of a softy when it comes to contests and casting calls like this. I can’t sing so don’t worry, you will never see me on American Idol or America’s go Talent. I also don’t want to eat worms or cockroaches so you will probably also never see me on Fear Factor, but I think I can do a lot of the stunts so I’m interested in The Amazing Race. Plus I obviously love to travel. I was never big on watching a lot of these reality shows. I was addicted to the first two Big Brothers but hated the wait and...

Is your life running on automatic?

Is your life running on automatic?

During chores here on the ranch we drive an old manual truck to haul the hay around to the horses. We do this twice a day, once in the morning and again at about 3pm. It’s an older truck, like I said, and it’s not pretty. It’s dirty, worn in, beat up, no speakers, and the clutch pushes back at you giving your left leg a good work out. I’ve had a lot of time to think lately. Think about life, love and happiness. The pursuit of life, love, God and happiness to be specific. Well I guess that is not so specific but it explains my general pursuit and current travels. It’s one thing to wake up one day alone or bored, another to worry that you will wake up one day with regret of wasting your life. Last year, while looking out my window, I remember worrying that I might be wasting my life and simply knowing there was more in the world for me than just working on a computer, hating snow, or even...

Embracing Country Living

Embracing Country Living

I’ve fully embraced country living. I can sort of lift a bail of hay, lead a horse, and I made buddies with a stallion named Ole. He’s sweet. I bring him an apple every day, so we are good buddies. Even got in his pen and brushed him out, he’s a unique looking guy. I think they call him a Fjord, so he’s bigger and more unique looking. I took some pictures of my adventures today, I’ll add them to http://desaraev.posterous.com and Facebook.com/Desaraev as soon as I can get Aperture to stop stalling out on me. Sophie is also seeming to...

Worrying about other people. Damn the critics.

Worrying about other people. Damn the cr...

I have critics, we all do. The people who either mean well and tell you how it should be, or the people who are jealous and try to tear you down, or the people who are just nosy and want to have a say in everyone’s business. I’ve had critics all my life. Going on this trip I’ve had a lot of friends who wished me well but wanted me to stay. I’ve had friends and acquaintances who thought my trip was stupid and selfish. I’ve also had a couple of recurring blog critics who just read either out of boredom or to find times to put in their very...
