Optimizing your Resume is like Optimizing a Website

I'm trying to optimize the layout and content of my resume to make it more obvious what my skill set and competencies are. My previous ones where not very specific to project management or marketing and haven't got me very far. I do believe the lord leads us where he needs or wants us, but I also believe you don't get places without putting in some energy. God doesn't approve of idle hands and helps those who put in the effort to get where they want to go. An old chinese proverb says a man who rises Read more [...]

I've always wanted a doctorate degree. Dr. Desarae A. Veit sounds good, no? I just got off the phone talking with Dr. Steve Hackenberger of CWU about getting involved in masters program. My current background is a little diverse with an associates in science (studied aviation technology, marine biology and radio television broadcasting) then transferred to Iowa State University to get my bachelors in Art and Design with a Minor in Military Science. George, Washington City Counsel Meeting

Posted by on Feb 15, 2011 in careers, Events, Learn more about ME | 0 comments

I went to my first George City Counsel meeting. It ran long. 3.5 hours long for fewer than 10 talking points. I found some of the issues interesting, but getting to know a city at it's core is interesting to me. Despite the bursts of boredom, I think I might go back next month. I like the idea of having a part in the city I'm living in, and you only get to help if you are present. Out of respect for the author I wont mention who wrote the book or the book title in this post. As a learning experience I think I'll just vent my review on why I didn't enjoy this book. Why I made it through most of the book is another post all together, I'll thank audio books and the fact that I can tune out most of the bs. The author is a lady, with a high-pitched voice, the deep kind of voice that reminds you of someone who has spent most of their life smoking. The majority of the book Read more [...]

Would you be interested in writing a post for my site or for AgencyCouture.com? If you are you'll be allowed to also add a two sentence paragraph at the end of the post promoting yourself and/or services. This wouldn't cost anything and would benefit both of us. Make sure your post is between 200-1000 words. Please get in touch with me first to discuss topics. You also need to review the post thoroughly for spelling and grammar. Would you be interested in having me write a guest post on Read more [...]

Artistic Anguish

In a country that is predominantly modeled around a nine to sixteen hour work day how do we separate ourselves from the path of struggling success? Let me rephrase that, how do you separate your personal goals and happiness from your daily struggle with work success? Model of Success. Most people have goals or an ideal model for what they consider their industries model of a successful work life. For book authors that would likely be a best seller, for actors it would be an Emmy or an Oscar, Read more [...]
