I hear consistency is key. It certainly makes analyzing my metrics easier. It’s like a life journal. For you to remember your daily life and thoughts it’s important to actually record them. If you want readers to know those thoughts you have to write them.

The 30 Second Rule of Blogging

It’s hard to be consistent in blogging. Some days I forget to blog. Some days I am too busy to blog. Some days I just can’t think of anything good to write about. I always try to remember the thirty second rule. You have thirty seconds (if not less) to convince someone that your blog is worth reading and to keep them coming back. What if THIS post is the only post they ever read to get a first impression of you or ME? How is it going to reflect who you are, your blog topic and whether or not they think you are worth a pinch of salt?

I love Sanctuary, it’s a fantasy movie from the Syfy channel. The first episode of Sanctuary I ever saw was the one with the mermaids and the submarine from season two. This particular episode of Sanctuary is arguably the worst episode of the whole series in my opinion. The story line stinks, it was a bit creepy, and they must have been running short on budget because only two main characters showed up. Plus let’s face it the props consisted of a tiny submarine and a dead mermaid. Fast forward a year or two to when I start watching the show at Cool River Ranch with my dad. I immediately fell in love with the story line, characters and special effects. I judged it by the one bad episode and until I re-watched it didn’t realize that was the only crappy episode of the series. Moral of the story: try to do your best in every post, every time. I’m not perfect and neither are you but remember that we will be judged more by our weakest link rather than our best work.

I recommend starting Sanctuary at the beginning but it’s also available on Hulu for free (but you’ll be starting from the end which will be very confusing). Hulu only keeps the last couple episodes of any show. Sanctuary is available on Netflix via live streaming (all except Season 3). So if you do Hulu and Netflix you can see everything online LEGALLY.
